About Color Lines 98 Online
Color Lines 98 Online inherits ideas from two classic games with colored lines. The first was Color Lines by Gamos, released in 1992: a 9×9 board, colored balls, lines of five or more balls of the same color, and a queue of upcoming colors without a hint showing where they would appear.
The second was Lines 98 by developer Sorcerer Software, released in 1998. Its important difference was a hint shown directly on the board: the player could see not only the colors of the next balls, but also the cells where they would appear.
We kept the proven game core and built a modern online competition around it: one board, equal conditions, and a result that depends on skill.
Game Core
Color Lines 98 Online keeps the classic rules: a 9×9 board, seven colors, lines of five or more balls, free movement through empty cells, and the familiar scoring system where strong combinations bring a better result.
This is the same foundation players love in the original Color Lines: simple rules, deep strategy, and the constant choice between a quick clear and preparing a stronger move.
Online Features
Color Lines 98 Online adds modern features for fair competition on top of the classic game.
- Daily Board — the same game for all players: the same starting board, the same sequence of balls, and one counted attempt for the result.
- Leaderboards — daily rankings and all-time records for each mode. Compare your results with players from around the world and climb higher in the tables.
- Replays and game replay — any game can be watched move by move, analyzed for strong decisions, and shared. The game recording also helps verify the score on the server.
Our Principles
- No pay-to-win. Purchases, visual themes, and cosmetics never affect the board, the sequence of balls, or scoring.
- Skill comes first. Equal conditions, verifiable results, and fair comparison between players are the foundation of Color Lines 98 Online.
- Classic gameplay without extra noise. We keep the spirit of the original game while adding what it lacked online: shared games, rankings, replays, and fair competition.
