Scoring and Lines in Color Lines 98 Online
The scoring system in Color Lines 98 Online is designed to reward skill, not luck. A short line gives a basic result, while a stronger combination brings significantly more points.
The more balls you remove in one move, the higher the reward — so patience, calculation, and the ability to prepare strong combinations play a key role.
Scoring Formula
If n balls are removed from the board in one move, points are calculated by the formula:
points = n × (n + 1) / 2 − 10
| Line Length | Points |
|---|---|
| 5 | 5 |
| 6 | 11 |
| 7 | 18 |
| 8 | 26 |
| 9 | 35 |
For example, a line of five balls gives 5 points, while ten cells removed in one move give 45 points. The reward grows faster than the line length, so it is often better not to rush and instead prepare a stronger combination.
Multiple Lines in One Move
One precise move can complete several lines at once. In that case, all balls included in the completed lines are removed from the board, and points are awarded for the total number of cells cleared.
For example, if a line of five and a line of six intersect in one shared cell, 10 balls are removed in a single move — giving 45 points.
Such intersections are especially valuable: one ball placed in the right junction can bring much more than two separate lines cleared one after another.
When New Balls Appear
If a move completes a line, no new balls are added on that move. This helps free up the board, preserve space for movement, and extend the game.
If no line is completed, three new balls appear on the board. That is why every successful move in Color Lines 98 Online not only gives points but also helps slow down the board from filling up.
